iPhone 17 vs iPhone 17 Pro vs 17 Pro Max: Which One Should You Buy? (Prices in Egypt)

Choosing between the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max is easier than it looks. All three share a 120Hz ProMotion display, 256GB of base storage and the same 18MP Center Stage selfie camera. The real differences come down to three things: zoom, battery life and size. This guide walks through each one, with current prices in Egypt at Gadedly, so you can pick the right model in a few minutes.

Quick answer: which iPhone 17 should you buy?

• iPhone 17: best value for most people. You get the smooth 120Hz screen and two 48MP cameras for about 12,000 EGP less than the Pro.
• iPhone 17 Pro: for people who shoot a lot of photos and video and want 4x and 8x zoom in a compact 6.3-inch phone.
• iPhone 17 Pro Max: for the biggest screen and the longest battery life in any iPhone 17, plus a 2TB option.

iPhone 17 vs 17 Pro vs 17 Pro Max: specs side by side

Battery figures are Apple's "up to" numbers for the eSIM models; versions with a physical SIM tray run slightly lower.

1. Camera and zoom: the biggest reason to go Pro

The base iPhone 17 now has two 48MP cameras, so everyday photos, portraits and wide shots look excellent. What it lacks is a telephoto lens: zoom tops out at 2x optical quality.

The 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max add a 48MP 4x telephoto camera, reaching up to 8x optical-quality zoom. That matters for concerts, sports, kids at school events and product shots. Both Pro models also record 4K 120 fps Dolby Vision video and support ProRes RAW. Their camera systems are identical, so you get the same photos whichever size you choose.

2. Battery life: Pro Max is in a league of its own

All three last a full day, but the gap is real. The iPhone 17 is rated up to 30 hours of video playback, the 17 Pro up to 33 hours and the 17 Pro Max up to 39 hours. If you are on your phone for navigation, social media and calls all day, or you travel a lot, the Pro Max is the safe pick. All three charge to 50% in about 20 minutes with a 40W adapter and support MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 25W.

3. Size and comfort

The iPhone 17 and 17 Pro both have a 6.3-inch screen, but the 17 is noticeably lighter at 177 g against 206 g. The 17 Pro Max jumps to a 6.9-inch screen and 233 g, which is great for videos and gaming but harder to use with one hand.

4. Performance

For browsing, social media, banking apps and casual games you will not feel a difference. The A19 Pro chip in the Pro models has an extra GPU core and vapor-chamber cooling, so it holds top performance longer during heavy gaming and long 4K recording sessions.

iPhone 17 price in Egypt (October 2026)

Gadedly sells every model in two packages:

• Custom Fees Not Paid: an international unit at a lower price; customs fees are not included.
• Custom Fees Paid (Local Warranty): fully cleared, with local warranty, ready to use.

Prices change often. Open each product page for today's price and stock by color and storage.

Value tip: the jump from 17 Pro to 17 Pro Max is only about 4,100 EGP on the 256GB Custom Fees Not Paid version. If you are already paying for a Pro, the Pro Max gives you a bigger screen and around 6 more hours of video playback for a small extra cost.

What about the iPhone 18 Pro?

The iPhone 18 Pro is now available at Gadedly with the A20 Pro chip and a main camera with variable aperture, starting from 83,034 EGP. If you want the very latest, it is worth a look. If price matters more, the iPhone 17 family is still excellent value.

Our recommendation

• Love photography but prefer a smaller phone: iPhone 17 Pro.
